    Breyer's "Homestyle Vanilla" is nasty. Corn syrup, xanthan gum, artificial coloring (though no Yellow #5, thankfully). What the heck, Breyer's?!?

    Anyone from MI remember Miller's ice cream? I just tuned a nice old Grinnell Bros (made in Detroit) piano at the original Miller dairy farm in Eaton Rapids, MI. I remember that ice cream as a kid, even though the woman from the historical society said they were bought out in 1982.

    Shawn, your tale brought tears to my eyes. It outlines in bold print the problems with mental health issues in this country. My sister is going through the same thing, being bounced around from anti-depressant to anti-depressant. It's maddening. Let me know when you get to LA. I am out there quite a bit these days. We can do lunch. Go kick some ass!

    Student athletes should not be paid. They are already getting much more than their non-athlete classmates. Unless of course the university wants to start paying every orchestra / choir / music student union rates for each performance given under the school's banner. And paying every student audio/video/computer technician the going rate for their services. Etc. Etc. Then go right ahead.

    Ok, so this is what I'm thinking: Let me know if you guys think this is reasonable. I'm going to open the blogging software to those who have donated to the forum either during this recent "pledge drive" or in the past. I won't request any other money from you, like a yearly subscription fee, but I think that it's fair in terms of keeping the board alive that those who want to have their own content featured prominently on this site are also financial supporters of the site. Does that make sense? In terms of rules, I would say just don't post anything you wouldn't want your grandma to see. And obviously no blogs for the sole purpose of pissing on another member of the board. So all your "Jim Alfredson sucks" blogs should be hosted elsewhere, thanks. Sound reasonable?

    Just donated a small amount to Obama's 2012 campaign. Not completely happy with him but what's the alternative? Newt? Pawlenty? Palin and Trump? Puh-lease.

    I agree, but even with all that, he never did anything remotely close to "The Decision" while he was a player. I also agree that was probably the beginning of the superstar era. At least Jordan had the record to back up the designation. Another good reason to stop watching the game.
