Anyone found a way to discard old VHS Tapes???
BERIGAN replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
You HATE this planet, don't you???? -
So I was reading the thread as I do every 6 months or so, and saw GA Russell talking about a number to contact them thru. Then Ron S. mentioned this site....it has the phone numbers to just about every site so you can...get a human!!!! Also stuff like Press 1; press 0 at each prompt thereafter, ignoring messages. is mentioned as well! Perhaps it has been mentioned before, but if not...it needs to be seen by more folks than on one thread.... http://www.gethuman.com/

MG, granted, I am just seeing these short clips, and can't see what if anything the drivers see to tell them about these car killers. Do people from smaller towns know about these??? Someone lost could turn down the wrong street, someone that was talking to the passenger...who knows??? What I do know is if you look at the first clip again, that guy hit his head on the windshield! I mean, stupid to not have his seatbelt on, but still. The other clip shows a car that got airborn. People clearly get hurt, was that the intention of these devices??? Or was it to increase business auto repair shops? And I imagine the traffic becomes a lot worse after a car gets impaled at a light. Hows a towtruck get there??? Just seems quite 1984 to me. One time I am glad we have so many trial lawyers in the U.S. Cities would lose millions if they tried them here.... Right, thanks Berigan. I suspect you're seeing these clips wrong. Two or three of those cars that got caught were trying to slide through tailing a bus tightly. They knew what they were doing. Would the US justice system have sympathy with people who got hurt trying to break the law? (And indeed, breaking the law, by not wearing seat belts?) MG Well, perhaps, but that first lady looks awfully confused...perhaps that is the way she always looks. But, how commonplace are these things? Are they on 10% off all side streets in London??? 80%??? Are they only in London??? One delivery truck was caught on it as well....What happens if a bus had to stop midway out because the police were speeding across the intersecting street??? In L.A. I recall seeing buses on special roads that clearly no one else would get on, just one lane, one way.....they get on and off these roads at lights...more room there though...

Anyone found a way to discard old VHS Tapes???

Weird answer... In Cuba, because of the embargo, they have become very good indeed at recycling old computer monitors. Even if they're completely US, there's a load of semi-precious metals in them which can be profitably (if you're Cuban) reused. Now that Castro's retired... MG First, it's too late, we gave it away already! Two, there are places in the U.S. that do this as well, but I was only hearing about them in the north east quadrant.... I was going to offer it to Goodspeak, but he only wants VHS tapes! -
Besides the nearest landfill? A quick search of the web found this site, but I really don't want to pay them a fair bit for them to make money off of what I send them!!! I am talking of formerly blank tapes, that I have in abundance. I have been slowly copying stuff to DVD and of course you find a fair number of tapes of movies you have since recorded without commercials, or purchased a prerecorded version. Now I have a box full, and I can't imagine a library wanting them. I imagine someone might stuff porn in the middle of a kids film, and the trouble a library would get into with those. I don't even think a Salvation Army place would want this many, but I could be wrong. Weird side note, we dropped off an old computer monitor that had lost some of it's "brightness" in more ways than one. It still worked, so my Dad dropped it off at S.A. and the guy was acting like he wasn't going to take it, it was stained on the back!!!(Don't ask something to do with plants overhead I think) My Dad had to raise hell just to get him to take it! So, any suggestions??? Mailing it would cost a fortune as well....

Sounds like you had a great one!!!

Hope you have a great one!!! off topic, kinda sorta. Anyone notice that at one point, Paul started three threads, and Catesta was the last comment on all three??? Now it's me, and all is right in the world!

All Hans on deck wishing you a great one, and hurry back!

Ebay is great for buyers, not so great for sellers. Listing fees for things that don't sell, really add up. Add to that final auction fees when things do sell, and paypal's cut...and only the big boys can really make it work long term... And now the buyer has a huge advantage on sellers. And what happens if someone writes a bad check, or never pays??? How will anyone ever know this is a deadbeat????

Great clip RDK! Too bad more in your neck of the woods didn't feel this way(who are on TV) I imagine if Britney died, TMZ would do anything to get a photo of her dead, and on the air the next day! This showed up in the box after the other clip. A brief clip after his Father had died....

Tapping her would be an accomplishment in one sense -- like breaking into a cave where the world's entire supply of PMS was stored -- but not much fun, I reckon. I think otherwise! Yep!!!!

Interesting link, thanks...I just wanted to add, I wasn't paying much attention to this, until I finally heard the actual audio....he was asking Bill Press if he thought Chelsea Clinton was "being pimped out in some weird sort of way." THAT is it??? That is worth a suspension???? He even added in some weird sort of way, which lessens whatever blow the first part of the comment had....pretty tame, all things considered. Now everyone on NBC is going to be scared shitless to say anything about anyone. Hillary is laughing that evil laugh somewhere.... I usually hear pimped out, when someone is referring to an old car being modified. And "they" mean it in a very positive way. People say my 1973 Lincoln is a real pimpmobile. Looking back I should sue the bastards.
