So I had pre-ordered a record from Korea I forgot about until Tuesday when I got an email it shipped. It was pre-ordered in July or August, I don’t remember but definitely before de minimus ended. Either way I wasn't asked to pay anything extra so either they ate the cost or FedEx will ask for money, though tracking doesn’t indicate I owe anything extra. Will be here tomorrow. We shall see.
Got the record with no tariffs due. Just got an email stating I owe FedEx around 10% tariff and some other customs fee.

O’Gallagher has always been an interesting player/composer for me. I’m in on this one.

I got my order from Korea yesterday. Everything went smoothly. Delivered without any additional payments needed. Nothing on the package indicated it had tariffs or anything so I’m not sure how my payments broke down but I got everything so I’m happy.

I shipped from Korea via FedEx instead of EMS or DHL because it used to be the fastest service. We shall see how it goes. Via FedEx tracking it looks okay. I'll let everyone know how it ends up if you're interested.

Shipping to the US is somewhat problematic. I ordered some vinyl inners and outers from a company in Canada and it was shipped but got stuck at customs. Because packages are only allowed to be there five days it was returned to the supplier who has now te-shipped it.
Vinyl Storage Solutions are awesome sleeves

I have an extra copy if anyone in the US is interested. No OBI.

Just got my consolidated shipping invoice from deliveredkorea. Shipping cost up about 35% for a similar order from January. On top of that my prepaid tariff and fees = another 30%.
will be my last overseas order. Just had to get a few things before they might get crazier.

Thanks. I’m actually ordering a bunch of CDs from s. Korea. Debating on which method to ship them. EMS or FedEx.

Has anyone recently imported any music to the US? Did you have import fees? I know media is not supposed to have tariffs but I’m seeing where items are being tariffed anyway. Anyone made orders from overseas in the last couple of weeks?

I guess I never realized how bastardized the blue note label has become.

As someone who really enjoys this album I don’t understand how this readily available album warrants a tone poet reissue. I’m sure it will sound great. Also skimming over the blurb it doesn’t mention if it is in mono or a stereo fold. I’m assuming it’s mono since I think it was originally recorded in mono. Also it’s not even blue note, maybe I’m wrong but this seems strange.
edit: found where it does state it’s mono

I have probably 1,200 albums in discsox. I created a template to add the leader/group name and have them filed where I can flip through like a Rolodex.

Yeah. I think everyone here got their copies. I did pre-order the 3 vinyl releases last summer (?) and have written them off as a loss unfortunately.

Sonny Rollins - The Bridge

Markus Rutz - Many Moons
picked this up on a whim from Dusty, due to the inclusion of Greg Ward on it. He's only on one track but it does include Sharel Cassity on a handful of other tracks which is a plus. On first listen I really enjoy it. Very modern compositions, in the vein of Roy Hargrove's Earfood if i had to compare. My jazz listening isn't as frequent as it used to be so I may be off with the comparison.

I got the cd of this from Dusty Groove for $5. Dusty must have had a source from an old distributor or something, they seemed to have a ton of Muse cds for that price a few years ago.

Let me put it this way - if the lack of an OBI results in a significant price break, then the OBI's loss is my gain!
Same. I have never once seen a record I want missing the OBI and thought, "I'll wait til I find one with the OBI.

We're just providing info about new releases for those who may be interested. Hard to see what there is to carp about this.
I agree. I appreciate these posts. If something interests me I will listen to it myself. I don't need someone to tell me their impressions to make me want to listen.

I wonder why the chose to use 6 CDs when it looks like the same program for CD as vinyl. Couldn’t they put it on a 3-CD(or possibly even 2-CD).
