  1. Watched that game - it was amateur hour for the Als- laughable when the shotgun snap actually hit the running back in motion. Pretty embarrassing showing for a once-powerhouse team. Of course, the way the CFL is, they could still turn their season around and win the Grey Cup!
  2. This is a very fine record, indeed.
  3. Hank Jones - Bop Redux (Muse) with George Duvivier and Ben Riley
  4. Lon, wishing you a belated Happy Birthday along with an extra measure of strength and patience in dealing with these issues. Sounds like you've got lots already (I don't know if I could deal with it all as well as you are), but a little more never hurts!
  5. Some Root from 1999 - a nice date. And Billy plays some fine baritone on the CD re-issue of Not sure, but that may be Billy at the far left of the cover photo, standing and soloing on baritone
  6. I think that Ralph Burns' "Early Autumn" with lyrics byJohnny Mercer is just about perfect.
  7. No doubt. But in this case, it was an (apparently) flash-less photo before the music even started. And a forced standing ovation? That's pretty sad. Obviously Perugia made a big mistake in inviting him back and he made a big mistake in accepting the gig.
  8. How does one see the flash if one's eyes are closed? And the photo was taken even before the music started. C'mon. Jarrett is a sick and ignorant man. Fans pay big $$$ to see this group and the Jarrett Trio doesn't mind taking the money, which I'm sure is one of the steepest fees in the jazz world. So there's got to be some give and take. To me it's the Trio which thinks they're self-entitled. Who the he*& do they think they are? Sure, this is a very good group, they're no better than a lot of jazz groups through the years, who've had to put up with fans taking pictures, coughing, drinking, eating, farting etc. And if Jarrett hates the public and live audiences so much, why doesn't he do what Glenn Gould did - just become a hermit and make nothing but studio recordings. It would help his reputation.
  9. Though I've never attended a Jarrett concert (thankfully), I am part of the problem in that I purchase some of his recordings. Why, oh why do I keep doing it? The man does not deserve public support. He clearly has a grievous personality defect that he refuses to even try and control.
  10. Fine record. 1975 date with Gene Perla and Joe LaBarbera. Thompson plays vibes and piano (mostly piano).
  11. Thought both games last night were lacking typical CFL excitement.
  12. I have these two and both are excellent IMO. Of course, there are many more Wyands dates as both leader and sideman. Here's one of his sideman dates I especially enjoy. Happy 85th Birthday, Richard Wyands.
  13. Following on Brownie's post above, here are some more Vax CD's with buses:
