  1. Sorry to hear this news. R.I.P. This is the Laine album that I've enjoyed more than any others:
  2. Since original copies of this private pressing LP fetch absurd sums, I'd love to see someone reissue it. I suppose it's not likely, however. . . . Oh well. At least it's available for streaming. Aside from ND's excellent playing, that rhythm section is something special.
  3. R.I.P.
  4. Al Haig Trio and Sextets Featuring Stan Getz and Wardell Gray (Period/OJC)
  5. R.I.P. Like @felser, I'm partial to Galper's excellent 1970s band with the Michael Brecker and Randy Brecker.
  6. Now: Pierre Dørge & New Jungle Orchestra - Music from the Danish Jungle (Dacapo DK, 1996) I only got this recently, and I'm really enjoying it. The music is full of vitality. Is there any higher praise?!?
  7. Now spinning: Milton Nascimento - Encontros e Despedidas (Polydor, 1985) The album title translates to English as Meetings and Farewells.
  8. with Hank Jones, Monty Budwig, and Jeff Hamilton
  9. More Moravec & Chopin: - Barcarolle in F# Major, Opus 60 - Etude in C# Minor, Opus 25, No. 7 - Mazurka in C# Minor, Opus 50, No. 3 - Mazurka in C# Minor, Opus 63, No. 3 - Mazurka in A Minor, Opus 7, No. 2 - Mazurka in C Major, Opus 24, No. 2 - Mazurka in A Minor, Opus 17, No. 4 - Scherzo, No. 1 in B Minor, Opus 20
  10. Now on my turntable: Chopin's Ballades performed by Ivan Moravec, as heard in this set: Exquisite. I've been on a Chopin kick lately. Sounds like I should track down that Cherkassky recording.
