  1. Is it political statement or artistic statement? I feel it is more the latter. I look at art as expressing the relationship of man with other men and with the cosmos. Politics is by nature ephemeral. Certainly not a suitable subject for art in general. But 7/4 answered it best. It's just a cigar.
  2. HEY, THE GROPER......STEP OFF, JUNIOR...STEP THE FUCK OFF. Some hard sledding ahead, GROPE. Don't worry: it's not he who comes first or who is most aggressive, but he who loves most that gets the chickie. Persevere...you can catch DEEP offguard some time when he's got his hands full in another hen coop.
  3. On the contrary, Jim, you've made some excellent suggestions. Nicely said.
  4. "baking in the syrup?" Wait; that's not it... No, Moose, I think it was: ...like sticking your dick into a woodchopper?
  5. You gotta be kidding! Most of your description flew over my head in terms of technical description. I like what you've written so far, though I don't understand quite a bit of it. For me, unfortunately, I had difficulty appreciating Nichol's music and I sold his complete sessions on Blue Note.
  6. Now this is something that bugs me as well.
  7. BTW, Welcome to the board, Geoff!
  8. What a dumbfuck thing to say. Did you miss a winking smilie or something?
  9. Hmm, certainly complicates things. Must be more to this than meets the eye.
  10. Oh, oh, don't look now, but DEEP has hooked another one. What's GROPE up to?
  11. Lots of success with that, huh?
  12. This is a sad story. Thanks for bringing it up, Chris. Glad the Press is getting involved. I'm sure that there's more to it all as I don't have much confidence in media analysis, but the kid was only 18 years old. This is sad; and I don't think he should have been imprisoned at all. Maybe a probation would have served. Seems like he has/had a promising career ahead. I am outraged like others who have posted here, but I wouldn't necessarily agree with Moose's sweeping statement that this is proof of some kind of overwhelming racism in this country. This is an example of racism, but it doesn't necessarily prove anything beyond that. That's my two cents, anyway.
  13. I'm sure you'll make out, Patty. You've got a lot of grit and intelligence; and you're a good sport. DEEP seems to imagine he's got the inside track in getting you, but it seems that he's falling behind THE GROPE, who is employing a more cerebral and gentlemanly approach. That part about being a clumsy and ignorant lover...ouch!
  14. GROPE is a term of endearment for a comrade, DEEP. I have the highest respect for this man who has had five marriages and is STILL STANDING. I mean, the financial hit alone must have been devastating. His divorce lawyer should go public and issues shares.
  15. I don't know what to say, Patty. I have never been involved in anything like the situation DEEP describes. I once had two in bed at the same time (this is bringing out some dark secrets,) but I was totally uncomfortable with the proceedings and in the end, nothing got done. It's solo for me, brothers and sisters, and no extra curricular in my 17 years of marriage. I am sympathetic to Patty's point of view, but I recognize DEEP's message that there are some women like that. Personally, I'm not into sharing my lady. There are no aphorisms on my part to offer regarding marriage or sex. I never figured anything out. Seems like GROPE's been through a lot.
  16. Interesting post, GROPE.
  17. I'd take a detour to the Bahamas and wear nothing at all.
  18. Look WHEEL: You gotta get Asian women who can't read English, or in the case of my wife, don't like to. It would be easier to get my wife to eat a can of stinky fish than it would be to read anything. She'd be pissed if she read this, but she knows I love her, and (unlike DEEP) am wholly faithful.
  19. Will have to have DEEP clarify things here. My assumption is that it was consensual. No way I'm supporting any kind of rape, Patty.
  20. Sorry Patty, but this post of yours displays an ignorance as to how the military works. Soldiers are not free to do as you have just described. I only basing my comment on an interview with a soldier who recounted that experience as the one in which he was involved, which has put him on psychiatric discharge. If soldiers are allowed to indiscriminantly kill civilians then they will find themselves locked up in the brig awfully fast. We recognize that mistakes are made, but the military is disciplined; they are trained to be so. It's not a Wild West Show. If you want to see soldiers on the loose at a party, read DEEP's post!
