    Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly was at our festival in Göttingen on November 8, 2013. Line-up: Lynne Arriale (p), René Marie (voc), Grace Kelly (as), Martin Gjakonovski (b), Guido May (dr). She just sang a bit, that was René Marie´s part, her playing was remarkable, the audience liked it ...

  13. „Jazz Pianist Billy Wallace: 1929–2017 Jazz pianist Billy Wallace passed away on December 9, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. Wallace got his start performing with Buddy Ryland, Max Roach, Clifford Brown, and Charlie Parker, and played as an accompanist for Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae, Anita O’Day, and many others. As for his impact on the Seattle jazz scene, he performed with Floyd Standifer, and recorded Soulful Delight (1994) with Phil Sparks and Clarence Acox. In his later years, Wallace became a steadfast member of the Denver jazz scene, performing regularly until his passing. He will be missed by many in the music communities of Chicago, Seattle, and Denver.“ Source: https://www.earshot.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/January-FINAL.pdf p. 3
  14. I regret, it was high summer ;-)! After I have had finished a narrow gauge boat trip with my family on the Llangollen Canal we went to Wrexham nearby ... I know this quote. It is from the liner notes of the LP "Ascension"! Currently we have in Göttingen - 3 ° C (27 ° F), sunny, no snow!
  15. Drunken announcements included ;-)? I saw Archie Shepp twice in the same way (Göttingen 1994, Berlin 1995)! Amazing how they can conseale that away!
  16. Maybe, but the performance of Dexter Gordon at the 11. Internationale Jazzwoche (11th International Jazz Week) in Burghausen was already on March 13, 1980, the gig in Göttingen much later on October 15, 1980. Possibly there is a connection to the gig in Hamburg at "Onkel Pö", because Göttingen is not far away. Unfortunately I do not know the exact date there:
