  1. Kenneth Noland was a huge jazz fan. He told me that Steve Lacy was the only jazz musician that understood modern art.
  2. I recently discovered this one.
  3. In the mid-80's we had a jazz club here run by musician Tom Weaver (Geronimo Black) and his wife. Once when talking to him about bands he knew he said that Elliot was babysitting their kids and watching the Wizard of Oz that evening.
  4. When I saw him his band had Blue Mitchell, Victor Gaskin and Ernie Watts. One of the opening acts was a young upstart named Boz Scaggs.
  5. Disc 1 is from 1977, disc 2 is from 1976. Both excellent performances.
