  1. I recently discovered this one.
  2. In the mid-80's we had a jazz club here run by musician Tom Weaver (Geronimo Black) and his wife. Once when talking to him about bands he knew he said that Elliot was babysitting their kids and watching the Wizard of Oz that evening.
  3. When I saw him his band had Blue Mitchell, Victor Gaskin and Ernie Watts. One of the opening acts was a young upstart named Boz Scaggs.
  4. Disc 1 is from 1977, disc 2 is from 1976. Both excellent performances.
  5. On CD. Sound quality is better than I expected for live Sun Ra.
  6. This set was done with the cooperation of the Library of Congress. The source materials are of varying qualities due to the rarity of a good number of these. A number of them come from pristine copies. I am thoroughly enjoying this set. I'm part way into the 4th disc.
  7. The one that changed my life regarding music: Weather Report in a tiny university night club in 1973. The stage was so small that Wayne Shorter stood on the floor 2 feet in front of me.
  8. Better than I expected.
