  1. Leroy Vinnegar: Bass Stan Levy: Drums Lou Levy: Piano I don't now the record 'Musicians Only'. The thing with 'The Steamer' is that it is super mellow. Drums are present as is the bass, the piano sounds a bit in the distance. edit: Maybe the flaws in sound have something to do with the fact you are talking about an pretty old recording.
  2. found this at a thriftstore. Beethoven - Appassionata (1936) * Mozart - Piano Concerto No.14 (adulf Busch Cahmber Players, 1938)
  3. love them both ... absorbing stuff.
  4. Just beginning to discover the Enigma Variations. I heard the barbirolli recording for the second time and thought; Wow, ... i don't like the Enigma Variations. Some have Barbirolli's recording in high esteem but i think it is wayyy to bombastic and it isn't enigmatic at all. I hated it ! Luckily i found this disc. Andrew Davis does the trick (he is well known for his Elgar recordings) I think i have to listen to Pierre Monteux's version to in the future also.
