I'm happy to see this thread. I just bought the De Franco Mosaic box at a (relatively) decent price, after years of looking for it. I have a few of the Japanese reissues of his Verves, including one called "Gone with the Wind," which is not included on the Mosaic set, and includes quartet/quintet dates from 1952. Does anyone know who plays on this?

Hi, I'm a former member of the old Blue Note board who's belatedly made it here. Glad to hear that there's a bio of this under-appreciated poet. He wrote a number of excellent poems, though he can be a dark glass of beer, and may put off some readers because of it. For those interested, I recommend trying out his poem "Travels in North America." Or try "A Good Chord on a Bad Piano." If it's not too much trouble, Ghost of Miles, could you paste a copy of the Times review here? I can't get it through the link. Thanks
