Was this his big record at the time? There's precious little information out there on this generation of Brits other than Mr. Pine.

Candy Dulfer – For The Love Of You Accidental listen. I thought it was a late period Hans Dulfer record (of Candy Clouds fame) with ironic cover, puns on "saxy" (plausible) and smooth jazz sound. Turns out it is Hans Dulfer's daughter (makes sense). Anyway, I really don't mind smooth jazz or pop jazz, but this is a good album to avoid.

It's just marketing fluff.

I don't know how it is in the Netherlands but in the UK this has been one of the worst winter virus seasons in memory. The kids keep bringing illnesses back from school, giving the illnesses to each other, then us, then getting them again. We've had flu twice (maybe one was COVID), vomiting bug and colds. Since late November it has just been only sickness.

Tuba Skinny – Owl Call Blues For whatever reason, I am enjoying this a lot more than other Tuba Skinny records, which normally strike me as infuriatingly ersatz. The kids have accurately identified it as 'Princess and the Frog music', so at least they've hit that target of authenticity.

It's on Bandcamp. It's EAI with a saxophone, which is nice.

Interested in knowing how you like the Webber one. I haven't listened yet.

Admirably minimalist live electro acoustic record. Actually a pretty good record.

It is a good record. I never quite clicked with Bonnie Prince Charlie Anything Else, but this one captured me.

Charles Tyler Ensemble – Folk And Mystery Stories A very good record. Presumably the cover is a deliberate reference to Booker Little on Candid, although seems a strange choice. I should add, not £5:99 these days, but Charles Tyler records are still very underpriced. The clout crowd has completely missed an artist who should be their champion. In my twitter posting days I was always surprised by how few 'likes' a Tyler post would get. Hearts & Minds – Electroradiance

Great name for a jazz venue

For some of the live records in the earlier Softs bands (1-3), I sometimes wonder whether they're worth it. They don't always depart significantly from studio versions.

Will check those records out. Thank you!

That's quite a line up.
