  1. Yeah, Red Holloway was great....saw him with Sonny Stitt back in the day. And Sam Butera (with or without Louis Prima) was a monster tenor man!
  2. Haven't got this one & don't know much about Frank Haynes. Got DB's 'One Foot in the Gutter' though....
  3. JACKIE McLEAN, McLeans Scene and SOUL JUNCTION Red Garland, both original LPs on Esquire from '56/57. £2 ( $3.70) each. From a car boot sale (swap meet?) Guess that's the equivalent of finding 'em on Prestige in the US!
  4. Hey guys! Ordered the Curtis Amy Mosaic set from USA for a buddy - cost £28 ($53) UK price is £44 ($83!!) Amy set includes Katanga - which you all already have of course!

    Lin Halliday

Hello! I'm from England and I picked up a Lin Halliday CD in Newark NJ while I was on holiday (vacation!) last year. Always interested in tenor men I've not heard before and with Ira Sullivan and Jodie Christian it looked interesting. CD is "East of the Sun" on Delmark DE-458 from 1992. Needless to say, I await the rest of the world to discover him!
  6. Hi JSngry, I'm from Rugby, England. The album is sort of shared between an old buddy n' me. He bought it originally, and I'm looking after his records while he moves house. We dig guys like Curtis Amy, Marchal Ivery, Harold Land, David Newman as well as all the usual suspects!
  7. Had to join this site to reply about Joe Daley! I have the amazing "At Newport" LP (since 1963!) - a lost gem of an album. The "Charlie Parker memorial Concert" has been released on CD. I had it and sold it ( D'oh!)
