  3. Happy Birthday, Joe!
  4. Just tuned in the Yankee game, and the last time a team made 5 errors in one inning was the Cubs in 1977. Also they mentioned that Tommy John made 3 errors on one play when he pitched for the Yankees. That's a season's worth of errors for a pitcher.

  8. Bessie Smith Volume 5 (Frog)
  9. Charlie Haden/Paul Bley/Paul Motian: The Montreal Tapes
  10. The Roosevelt Sykes United sides (with Porter on guitar) are good stuff - also don't miss Remo Biondi's bluesy violin. All are included on Delmark 642 - Raining in My Heart. I think that saxophone and guitar are an unusual double. Perhaps I'm just not thinking, but offhand I can't remember another case like that. I know Little Walter recorded on both harp and guitar, but that's at least a bit different. Probably someone will come up with an obvious example that I overlooked.
  11. Tuts Washington: New Orleans Piano Professor (Rounder)

  13. Checking out Clay Hammond's history, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_Hammond , he never made it big (like so many others), but he had quite a varied career.
