  1. Same thing with my copy. Thanks, Paul. For some strange reason, it always makes me feel better to find out that a flaw in one of my records is not just in my copy. Not that that does either of us any good.
  2. Same thing with my copy.

  4. Muddy Waters: The Real Folk Blues (Chess - original issue)
  5. Some surprising stats for Jim Thome. I think of him as a one dimensional ball player, but he's been pretty damn good within that one dimension. I guess if one can speak of a quiet but effective career, his has been that.

  10. Chuck, what do you think I have here: a very early issuance, or some later variant? Perhaps the original album cover photo (mine) was changed for what is now the standard photo? Looks like the back cover photo did not make it onto other versions either. I was also wondering if the green LP label had any importance? Thanks! 290 West End would be after 1970. I have seen the version you have, and it's definitely a second pressing, albeit a very cool-looking version. The first pressing should have a 5th Avenue address and the cover Paul, Chuck and I have. The back cover is just a photo catalog of ESPs up into the early 1030s. That's what the back of my LP is - 156 5th Avenue address. Even if Leeway's isn't a first pressing, it probably is rarer and is definitely cooler looking.
  11. Thought I bought my copy - cover below - when it came out. You seem to have a rarity.

  23. That's something of an understatement - 10 hits in 5.2 innings. If the Yanks hadn't been playing the Royals, Burnett still wouldn't have a win in August for three years. What's it going to take to sit that guy down?
  24. I heard a George Russell track on the radio this morning. It was from a collection of Russell recordings on the Rare Live Recordings label. I checked on Amazon and it was in stock, but I saw this review: By A. Russell (Boston) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Things New-Unissued Concerts 1960 & 1964 (Audio CD) This is an unauthorized recording. My husband, the late George Russell, did not give permission for this CD to be released. It is, in effect, stolen intellectual property, and the sound quality is unacceptable. If you support musicians, don't buy this shoddy merchandise. I usually steer clear of unauthorized recordings and definitely did in this case. Does anyone know if it's unusual for a musician or a family member of a deceased musician to post do not buy reviews? That one was the first I've ever seen.
