  1. well even if this is this rare it has shown up on ebay various times and never sold for over 400 USD so this guy is out of his mind trying 1600 http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...xt=BARNEY+WILEN
  2. I find it amazing how this guy record always sell for these INSANELY Prices!!! I walked in a shop inTokyo and they had this record for sale for 200,000 Yen which is around ~ 1700 USD, I bet you could have spotted this in Frnace for less then few pennies a few years back, I grabbed his rca debut when I lived in europe for not more then 5 USD hehe, but never dug him?!?!
  3. Well you usually don't have to pay the big bucks to get the sonic experience a 1st pressing deep groove ear rvg 47w.. address and all, to experience the bn sound, I find 2nd pressing, which usually run way less then originals, to give me the same sound representation an original does. Anyway the easiest to find and worth while are the japanese reissues, if you can get your hands on the KING issue, which were done in the 70's then you got yourself a treat, don't hang around ePay they go pretty expensive. Go directlly to the source, Japan many websites sell them for 1500Yen to 3000Yen which is from 12-27 dollars, but expect shipping to be in the 10-18 dollars to me well worth it they have a prefix of GXF i belive?!?! Have to pull one out to find out. Now on the 70's reissue, solid blue label, people tend to reccomend them, I find them a hit and miss, some sound marvelous, and some just plain bad. Dolphy's solid blue label sounds extremelly well, but 1500 series rechannel for stereo is just plain bad!!! STAY AWAY from DMM France Issues, BAD!!! That is all I need to say, lastly Classic issues I find them to be extrelly well done or just average, grab the 1500 series from Classic, which 1st pressing and repressing go for an arm and a leg; 4000,4100,4200 series you can usually find 1st or 2nd pressing for not toooo bad price, keep your eyes open deals are all out there! Ciao
  4. the cd states 1995, the back cover 88 I belive, so it's a Conn CD with BN OLD back cover, as I remeber?!?! Ralph Oh forgot found a 4050 Home Cookin' Jimmy Smith Pre RVG and Dexter Gordon One Flight Up Pre RVG and GO Besides GO they are all 8.99, GO is 5.99 Any interest guys?!?

  6. well you can grab from EPAY Vol 1 (seems original there is a deep groove in the label) which he describes NM- to VG+ should be good enough for playing. It's Only 7.98 buy it now, I have no interest in his auction, just was going to grab this and thought you would enjoy it more! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...74&category=306 Ralph

  9. well guess not scared me for a moment
  10. European only Well turn the disc, check right around where the clear plastic is, ok see there is no ingraving of a symbol or writing as in their older, and conn series, these are generic cheap cds, but the batch is top notch so no complains from here. The McLean session is one fine sounding one
  11. Discs are Copy Protected!!!!! They are not using the same discs as before, seems cheaply made
  12. um great to see fantasy reissuing these in 20bit k2, even though I just ordered the whole set @ five spot from japan jvc mini-lp, I would love to see fantasy do the Mal Waldron-The Quest and George Russell-Ezz-thetics, had to shell out around 30 bucks each for those.
  13. I have to agree on the Turrentine 'Up at Mintons Vol 2' one of my fav. Turrentine sessions, and the live club acoustics are phenomenal!! Even got vol 1 but just a new york no address belive a second print from 62-64 and sounds just as good, both in living stereo

  18. Just grabbed mine today, they just placed them up and they were gone within minutes, on the cover it says limited edition, but I would think any newsstand having it. It's a regular month issue, nothing as a stand alone issue. Ralph
  19. July Month of Downbeat is a must for any jazz lover, they are celebrating 70 years, and have a special on Our Heros, today's stars on the legends who most inspired them, pretty much sub grouping each instrument and having a brief description about the most influential artist to those categories. Also original reviews of classic albums, lots of photos!! The whole magazine has nothing but GIANTS (still can't understand why Eric Dolphy isn't featured what's up with that?!?!!?), and to top it all off the Blindfold test is Ornette Coleman from Jan 7 1960 hehe the begining of the new revolution!
  20. BN needs to do a conn 10" series of those west coast vol 1 and 2 sessions, they are worth enjoying, the original album didn't state any of the artist it was a new marketing idea of doing a listener blindfold musician recognizing. Ciao Ralph
