I can remember a whole lot of chatter back then about Wilt's winning his first one. He took a whole lot of flack when he removed himself from the game in one of those championship series. There was always a lot of chatter about Russell vs. Chamberlain and it always revolved around Wilt having no championships.

Given how game 2's are so full of adjustments I would probably take the Under 195.

Christian Laettner was on the Dream Team (he beat out Shaq!) as the token college player, but something's up with that photo as he's 6'11". If he wasn't pasted in maybe they dug a trench for him to stand in as part of the hazing process. If you examine the picture, you can see that they are all standing on a stair step setup. Karl Malone also looks short because of this.

That was such a tragedy. They left school because of greed envy and they wound up with no championships and still made plenty of money. There is still some value in staying in school especially when your team in on the brink of true greatness. The money will always be there. Too bad, now Howard is hooked up with Lebron, Wade and Bosh, and he still might not get a ring.

You got a big amen on that. What they (he) showed was no class and no respect for the rest of the league. I guess the rest of the league has shown them so far. I'd really like to see OKC win it this year, even if it would have shown some vindication for Miami if they were to win. Class and humbleness are such a big part of being a champion.

Miami does appear mentally now to take on the league. Needless to say it would help Miami greatly to go all the way this time, but there is opposition; a very hungry OKC and a very experienced and tough San Antonio. I love the NBA playoffs.

MWP gets a flagrant foul. Argument!! To me there was no argument. There are times when even the commentators don't see what they need to see. MWP fouled the shooter but, what was hard to see (but not for me) was that he shoved with his fully extended left arm, whoever it was that took the shot, (Hill I think) while he was still in the air and it shoved him down. That is why it got changed to a flagrant foul. Now, I saw the replay 3 times at least and each time I could see the left arm. Look for it guys, you'll see it. ol eagle eye, Bruce :excited:

No doubt. But three close losses in a row just shows the Lakers still have a fair amount of talent on the team. The Thunder has had to struggle to win [or, more to the point, preside over the mistakes of the Lakers]. My thinking is if the Thunder was that good [or the Lakers that bad] the games would be more lopsided and they aren't. Okay, let me put it this way; a W is a W is a W. The spread only makes a difference to the money betters.

During the Lakers - OKC game last night I thought I saw something and a replay was never showed. Today on the pregame show Charles alluded to that situation and they kept showing the replay and I was right. MWP is a dirty dirty mental player. He did, and I repeat the replay showed it, knee Russell Westbrook in his "man parts" while Westbrook was down on the court. It is time for MWP to go, although the Lakers will probably wait until the playoffs are over and attempt to trade him next season. There is no place in the NBA for a player who is so dirty and replays continue to verify that he is exactly that.

I saw the schedule in the paper this morning and thought it was a mistake; my first thought was "how can they do that, it is unheard of in the playoffs." I was wrong. And brother, you are right, the NBA and David Stern had better wake up or face an unheard of strike. Players injuries off the scope, ridiculous triple back to backs and way too many double back to backs.

Man, what a festival. With all my old friends and some scattered family there, I still can't travel. Wow, guess I will have to do some really advance planning and preparation for travel and try and catch it next year.
