  1. ss1, man, you are funny! BruceW
  2. Holy Smokes, I been gone too long!
  3. YES I noticed the same thing. No fun, no enthusiasm, no fire. They lost to a great football team this evening. Will any team be able to beat the Saints? I don't think the Pats have recovered from that loss to the Colts. They had that game in hand and found a way to lose. It's still gnawing at them, I'm sure... They (NE) better wake up or they won't make playoffs. Wow. Didn't see that one coming. Well, probably everyone expects this now, but I foresee it will come down to Saints v. Vikings in the NFC Title game. That should be a classic. (I might even watch ) The winner most likely playing the Colts, though they could get upset at exactly the wrong time. New Orleans has a great team. They have all the weapons including defense. Everything hinges now on whether they get injuries. :bwallace2:
  4. I thought the first thing we do, as men, is protect our balls. Bilichick loses another close one with another bad decision.
  5. Happy Birthday Paul BruceW :bwallace2:
  6. Yes, you answered all. It just seems strange, but I understand. BruceW
  7. Thanks, and thanks for posting the link for everyone.
  8. I might add that the PC magazine suggested to go completely new if going to Windows 7. That Windows update page can always be found on the Microsoft website. Sorry I don't have the exact url at present. But I heard also that it is good news for the problems with Word documents. Exactly right, do not upgrade from XP or even Vista. You are basically asking for more problems. Go brand new if going to Windows 7. Let me get this right, you bought a new Vista machine, didn't work and had it wiped clean and XP installed on it???? How much money did you have to spend getting all that done?? When he reinstalled "everything", was that Vista everything on an XP platform or did he reinstall other old XP stuff on the new XP platform. Did you upgrade from XP to Vista and then back to XP?? That is what it sounds like here?? But it is not clear what you did. Help us out please! Is that the Word thingie you are talking about? It would be greatly appreciated. BruceW p.s. BTW I'm doing fine on the "no more cancer" thingie but I didn't want to open that cancer thread again since we are all having "Microsoft thingie" problems.
  9. Wow, you guys have really had some problems. I have XP and plan to keep it as long as I possibly can. I dreaded Vista as I had heard so many bad things about it when it first came out. Then the news of Windows 7 coming out was filled with the same hype. FYI Windows 7 is nothing more than Vista with a few fixes. Microsoft is really embarrassed about Vista and wants to wipe it out as soon as possible. But the trends for the future have been set so they also want to banish XP to oblivion also (a planned way to have everyone on Vista in some form or another). Personally I had many problmes lately with XP including the BSOD (and many of them) that I was going crazy because I was not going to switch to Vista under any circumstances. My DVDs would not play because of some Overlay malfunction. Well guess what, my problems were the cause of one single thing; the graphics adapter driver (standard issue). Microsoft would not put out an update for quite awhile. Turns out I went to the Geek Squad and the guy finds an update on the internet and my computer has been running fine ever since. However, he showed me losts of dust in the fans etc. He did not charge me for the service and only charged me for a couple cans of compressed air for me to do the cleaning myself. I'm in the process now. I will never switch to any form of Vista (including Windows 7) unless my computer just plain stops. I have rwead in the PC magazine and others that an upgrade to Vista or Windows 7 is a very bad thing to do. I will have to upgrade my RAM though. BruceW
  10. Happy Birthday Matthew
  11. Happy Birthday
  12. Dave, you're right about those line drives, they can be very tricky. It looks like Holliday got caught in a bad glove position -- he could not figure out whether to go above or below the ball with the glove, if you know what I mean. Now hold on a minute, quit making excuses for the guy, try and remember that after he bumbled the ball, he also stumbled on his own feet and took a belly flop that would put him in the Keystone Cops movies.
  13. I have watched very little baseball ever since the baseball strike before the World Series in 19?? After watching the Cardinals lose that game yesterday makes me want to puke. (Not necessarily a total Cardinals fan nor a Dodger gan). The question is; How can you not know how to catch a line drive straight at you in the outfield and you are supposed to be a major leaguer?? Man, what a blunder..... and let us not forget the style and grace of Manny's catch a little earlier... a whole lot of overpaid dufus players. In my day (we won't discuss when that was) if you couldn't catch a ball, you didn't play......
  14. Happy Birthday Rod
  15. Haven't followed baseball too much the last two years but if I had to pick a team to follow it would be the ANGELS They have one of the best and fairest managers in baseball.
  16. Hello Again, I am now doing very well and sending all my positive energy to Paps for a like turnout for him. It is at this time that I wanted to officially introduce myself to all of you in thanking you for your positive energy and prayers for me. What I have done is change my Avatar to an actual picture of myself standing at the love of my life; the vibes. Yes, that is actually me, a departure of any usual avatars I use on bulletin boards. Although it is not a portrait, (all my best pictures were lost in my latest computer crash), it is a picture where you can recognize me. Thanks again all. Life is great, isn't it. BruceW
  17. Hello Everyone, I have been in communication with Paps on this very dangerous condition regarding the prostate. Paps has asked me a lot of questions which I gladly answered for him. I tried to give him factual information straight from the hip so that he would know what he is in for. Paps was very responsive in receiving this information and we had good exchanges of information. I personally believe he has the information to make an informed decision on his condition. From what I have learned about Paps condition, he should be perfectly ok as the cancer was caught early enough to have not spread or gotten into his bone structure. All the best to you Paps. And a very heart felt thank you from me to all of you guys and gals on the board for your best wishes for me also. My cancer PSA is now a whopping 0.09. That is just about absolute perfect. I had my latest PSA test last week so I am feeling good. Words cannot convey enough how important all the one liners and paragraphs of support have helped me through this process. As I am 73 and have very very little actual family left alive, this board became an extended family for me. The most enlightening thing I learned is that it doesn't take but a very little to help someone through trying times. Thank you again for me and Paps. Me getting some practice two days ago
  18. "one up" "One more than" Isn't that the same thing when we are talking about Kobe and Shaq? Anyway I know what you mean :-) BruceW
  19. Hi Guys, Once again I must play that song "I'm back again." Yep, had another operation and also had a computer crash, lost everything. So here I am coming back in the midst of some interesting trades. Oberto went to Detroit. Will provide very good sound backup to McDyss, who will backup ??. Stuckey will be Piston pg, Gordon will be backup or vice versa. Nobody knows yet how Joe feels about Stuckey's progress. It is time for Sheed to go. They say he is cool in lockeroom but his oncourt antics have cost the Pistons. You win on the court. Sheed is big enoough to play center but he doesn't really want to. Likes to stay outside and shoot 3's too much. Pistons need muscle in the middle. Rip still has a lot in his tank, Pistons need good coach to maintain him and Prince in game plans. Shaq can help Cleveland believe it or not. Somebody said earlier that Shaq wants one more ring than Mamba. Believe it, he really does, no matter how much he pulled for Kobe to win this last championship. Oh well, it is good to be back, again guys.
  20. Congrats on Black Mamba instilling will power in the rest of the Lakers and their victory. However, do not overlook the fact that Van Gundy made the same mistake that the Sacto Kings made. Allowed their star's ego obligations to sway Van Dummy into letting Nelson play. Stupid move. Orlando's whole chemistry was upset. Kings made same mistake by playing C.Webb after his long layoff; team chemistry disrupted; Kings lost, so will the Magic.
  21. ok, so what is he, maybe 23?? 24??
  22. Whoa, stop, take a breath. Each scenario given took some time to fill those holes needed to become a championship team. Cleveland is on the right path but they need some more time. Lets just see what they do in the draft and then any subsequent trades before passing judgment. Cleveland is perched to become what you are talking about. So whoa, stop, take a breath, and get out of the instant gratification mode. It will happen if Lebron stays put. Right now, NY is a sure bet to suffocate Lebron. If Cleveland is going to keep the ball in Lebron's hands, then they need a star power forward. If not, they need a star ball handling guard. He can't win and be both. Give Cleveland some time. Lebron is only 21 years old. :bwallace2: p.s. remember this scenario; as great as Michael was, he didn't win until the team filled up all the pieces needed. Remember!! It took 8 years.
  23. Cleveland weaknesses have been exposed. They are in trouble. Lebron handles ball too much; team stops moving.
  24. Man, what a f*&k*ng shot. I just knew Orlando had done it again, pulled a big upset come from behind victory. Not! But you know what, Cleveland is still in trouble. They can't keep losing leads like that and win the series.
  25. Oh yeah, you can bet on that. Stern was so sure it was going to be Lakers/Boston again. Then he was hoping for Lakers/Cleveland; NOW, he doesn't know who will end up in the final. Right now, I have to give you a ditto on a strong possibility of an Orlando/Denver final. Yeah, well that is the way of the playoffs. Lots of freethrows at end of games. Magic always used to say "you got to make your freethrows." But those turnovers were helped along by good Denver D. Who ever said that loads of tats look all that great on guys. KMart looks like a fool with those big lips on his neck.
