couw Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 It's a small town in the Tango region on Honshu Island. They bake a mean liver cake there with small crunchy pieces of coarsely grinded coffee beans. Quote

JSngry Posted September 15, 2004 Author Report Posted September 15, 2004 Just goes to show you that Cannonball truly had an international following. Or, as the reviewer seeems to think, WAS an international following! Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 i thought the main point was that the writer showed that cannonball had an "intestinal" following.? Quote
neveronfriday Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 It's a small town in the Tango region on Honshu Island. They bake a mean liver cake there with small crunchy pieces of coarsely grinded coffee beans. If I know my Japanese specialties correctly, isn't that one supposed to rot a bit before it is considered a delicacy? I recall going into some Tokyo supermarked with a friend about 20 years ago, and he held up this bag of rotten sprouts and smacked his lips. Now, I've eaten anything from sheep brain to bull's testicles (covered in yummie chocolate), but the sprouts kept me away from Japan for nearly two decades. Cheers! Quote
couw Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 the sprouts are the secret ingredient Quote
