E-mail from Red Trumpet:

HUGE NEWS FROM RED TRUMPET JAPAN!!!

Unfortunately, we are forbidden to announce exactly what this is until October 5th. However... for you vinyl hounds and specifically those who love jazz, there is a series of pressings being released from Japan on December 22!

All are direct cut from original master tape, all analogue and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. These will be available only on a first-come, first-served basis.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

All of the Impulses for sure can be picked up as first pressings in good condition in the $30 to $50 range.. ;)

Reminds me of some new Toshiba pressings I saw in one of the London shops a few weeks ago. I think they were asking about £40 for each of them. I'd expect perfection (or rarity value) for that.

I'll just echo what Jazzmoose and Sidewinder said, and that is one can get most of these titles used, and in my experience, for far less than the price of the new issues. Of course, if you want new, then you have to pay the man ;)

I don't know what the big secrecy thing is all about, unless one just wants to mark that down to "hype." Maybe RT is going the Dusty Bastard route?
