tooter Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 (edited) Trying to do some research on my modest LP collection and looking up offer prices Gemm, Music Stack, etc I ran into a complete blank in respect of the album "Nite Flight" by Kenny Drew, with Thad Jones, Bob Berg, George Mraz and Jimmy Cobb. I tried "Night" but still no result - nothing using Google either. I tried AMG but nothing there that I could find. Could anyone tell me if it is rare and how much it might be worth? Steeplechase - 1977. Edited December 20, 2004 by tooter Quote
tooter Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 Sorry - I've just, after all this time, noticed that the cover says "Lite Flight", not "Nite Flight". Back to the drawing board! Quote
brownie Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Nite or Lite, I'ld buy it for a buck, if you really want to sell it... Seriously, doubt that it's worth much. It used to be a pretty common vinyl. And it's been reissued on CD (with one additional alternate track). Not a collectors' item in any way. Keep that one and enjoy it! Quote
tooter Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 Still nothing on the LP, although it has been issued on CD. Quite a nice album, though. Quote
Dmitry Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 $5 - $10 would be a realistic price in NM-/NM- cond. Quote
tooter Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 Thanks, Brownie - you posted as I was messing about here. I'm considering getting rid of my entire vinyl collection in one go, mainly due to pressure from a certain direction. Not that it's all that big or worth all that much, as I keep saying. Quote

tooter Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 I was even more erratic than I thought - not only did I put "Nite" for "Lite", but also "Flight" for "Flite". Got it right at last, I think, but not certain. Quote

Not that it's all that big or worth all that much, as I keep saying. If it's nothing valuable[if it is, then eBay is unbeatable], just make up a list of whatever you got, then post a note in a nearby university's school of music and an ad in the local paper that you want to sell the whole collectio, nothing piece meal. If you're thinking of selling to a used record dealer, you'll get pittance. Good luck! Quote
tooter Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 Thanks a lot for the advice, Dmitry. I am in touch with a dealer but am sure you are right about the pittance. I don't have to accept any offer of course but one I am for for taking the easy way out usually. Your suggestion about a university is interesting though - I will give it some thought. Quote
