When he had the right kind of rhythm section, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson would play AND sing the hell out of "Laura." Just beautiful. A great memory. Mike available as a Japanese re-issue (2003) While I know many have qualms and reservations about Lonehill, this material with 3 bonus cuts has just come out as Oscar Pettiford -- Complete Big Band Studio Recordings on ABC/Lonehill.
