Shorty Rogers & His Orchestra - The Wizard Of Oz & other Harold Arlen Songs (DRG Records) I have the RCA Spain prodiced version on CD but that's mono. The cover states Living Stereo on this reissue and the CD-Universe page says stereo too. Please let me know if it's in Stereo. Thanks in advance!!! Quote

samnat Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I have the vinyl and the arrangements are not corny at all--swinging for sure, sophisticated and modernistic. I don't know if the CD is stereo, vinyl was released I believe in both formats. Recommended. Quote

brownie Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 A real nice period piece. From 1959. They don't make music like that any more! I have a mono original. Clear arrangements, nice solos (from Giuffre, Rogers, Enevoldsen, Rosolino, Shank, etc.). Outstanding is the rhythm section of Barney Kessel, Joe Mondragon and Mel Lewis. Every time I hear Mondragon I marvel at the quality and exactness of his playing. The album is a splendid display of his talent. Quote
