ejp626 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 I've been to the old MOMA many times, and even made it out to Queens three times, including the awesome Max Beckmann show. I'm going to check out the expanded MOMA tomorrow. Has anyone been through it? Roughly how long does it take to see everything? Two hours? Three? Four? I can probably go through a little more quickly, since I am quite familiar with their core collection, though there will be many favorites near which I like to linger. Quote
sonic1 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 excellent. I know where I will be when I visit this summer again. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 I haven't been to it, though i will before the summer comes along. I have had co owrkers who have seen it before it opened, and they said it will take a couple of days to digest everything. It's that extensive a renovation. And the layout of the permanent collection is all new -- so you might be wandering around a bit, trying to orient yourself. But you should have a good time. Quote
ejp626 Posted February 10, 2005 Author Report Posted February 10, 2005 Ok, well I guess I will show up a bit earlier then (I was going to wait until 4 PM when admission becomes free (Fridays only)), but it sounds like it is worth taking the extra time. Quote
J Larsen Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 I went right after it opened. The new building works far better than the old one. I can't really say how long it would take to digest everything, because it was so crowded that my party left after a few hours - it seemed better to wait for the hoopla to die down a little. There were so many people it was difficult to get a good look at much of the work. Quote
