slide_advantage_redoux Posted February 25, 2005 Report Share Posted February 25, 2005 Just stumbled across this film on DVD at a pawn shop sale (all dvds $5) Chappaqua (by Conrad Books) w/ William Burroughs Allen Ginsberg Ornette Coleman et al Looks interesting. anyone seen this movie yet? The Ornette music didn't get used. The soundtrack is by Ravi Shankar (really!). Thanks .. as a film scholar you would think that I might have seen the actual movie, but I have not! At one time the French 2-LP set of the Chappaqua Suite was a hot item, and much sought after in the U.S. I am not sure that it has ever been officially released in this country. The film director Conrad Rooks shied away from using it and used Ravi Shankar for the film soundtrack. Never saw the film. Understand Ornette Coleman appeared in it.
