scottb Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Whats the 411 on the BASRA RVG? Any updates? Anyone getting European versions? Quote
scottb Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 I'm sorry, how insensitive of me. What's the 411 on that Pete LaRoca RVG? Quote
sjarrell Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I got mine on Tuesday from a friend in the UK. It sounds great to my semi-functional ears (and with an alert shift-key finger it's not as copy-proof as it's cracked up to be). I haven't tried it in a car player, but the warning says it might not work there. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 i am so confused on this rvg and i don't know where to start. was this released and THEN pulled from the shelves? ss1 Quote
sjarrell Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 i am so confused on this rvg and i don't know where to start. was this released and THEN pulled from the shelves? ss1 It's available in Europe. It's only here that it didn't reach the shelves. Quote

ejp626 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I believe they came thisclose to releasing it, and maybe they even did ship it to some stores in the US. As noted above, EMI did release it in Europe and Japan. I imported it from HMV.co.uk and have had no problem playing it in my stereo or on my computer. I don't play CDs in the car, so don't know if that would be a problem. [believe me, I think this CC stuff is unbelievably stupid, given how easy it is to manuever around it. Takes about 8 seconds.] I'd just go ahead and import Basra from Europe, but if you are seriously philosophically opposed to CC, then wait about 6 months, maybe it will be coming out domestically by then. Rooster_Ties Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 (edited) I've not heard anything from anybody who's seen a U.S. version, at least not from anyone on this board or AAJ --- and you'd think if there was such a beast, we'd know about it here. I don't think any of the U.S. one's slipped out. Or if so, not a hell of a lot, that's (probably) for sure. Edited March 18, 2005 by Rooster_Ties Quote
