Peter Johnson
Folks, Clark Terry is coming to Seattle next month; from the Jazz Alley website, "Band members include Sylvia Cuenca (drums), David Glasser (sax), Marcus McLaurine (bass), and Don Friedman (piano)." Has anyone seen him recently? Worth going? Comments, questions, concerns? Thanks in advance! PJ
Jazz Kat
yes it's worth going to. I see him on that St. Lucia show, and it is great everytime. Mr. Terry likes to sit a lot though.

Mr. Terry likes to sit a lot though. ...I'll be sitting a lot too when I'm his age; if I get there . I saw Clark last summer at the Chicago Jazz Festival. At that time he played with many musicians his age and he did sit the entire show. I thought he played well but wondered how he'd do if he was the primary focus of the entire show. I know I would still go; you never know how long these guys will be around and he'll probably give you a good show; he's a legend! Just my 2 cents! Jazz Kat
Yep, I enjoy his show all the time. I always see him with youngsters, (compare to him) He can still play great. I love when he has his trumpet and flugelhorn and plays them at the same time.

PJ Peter, A little off-topic, but I have a CD of him with Joe Sudler's Swing Machine, a great local Philly big band, from about 10-15 years ago. Ever hear of them? Jazz Kat
I like Terry's flugel horn playing a little better, as displayed on In Orbit. How is "Serenade To A Bus Seat?"
Dan Gould
I like Terry's flugel horn playing a little better, as displayed on In Orbit. How is "Serenade To A Bus Seat?" Easily recommended.
Jazz Kat
I originally wanted the album for Philly Joe Jones, but since I have branched out a little more, (jazz wise) I kind of forgot about it.
jlhoots
Good people in the band. I'd be optimistic.
