sheldonm Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 I photographed a jazz educational program at the Walker Theatre this morning as part of the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation's "Jazz for Kidz" program. About 200 2nd through 6th graders attended and were taught what jazz is and how the process works. It was a hands-on program with kids being encouraged to participate throughout. Towards the end, about a dozen kids were brought up on stage and given some type of percussion instrument (small drums, bells and such) to play while the band played behind them; lots of fun for me and the kids.
