J Larsen
Have you guys heard about this? I can't decide whether this should get a barfing guy or laughing guy icon! I guess I'll go with the barfing guy, as I'm sure my teams will be soon to follow... http://www.wisinfo.com/northwestern/sports..._10949587.shtml

J Larsen
The one thing this will be good for is a few sports bar laughs. "Hey, who's number 31 on Bears Football, Presented by Bank One?" Of course, as the phenominon spreads the laughs will wear thin.
Guest Mnytime
First I find this sickening. Next I don't understand why they agreed to something like this for so little. Didn't the White Sox get something like $68 million for 20 years? And they are not being presented by anyone it was just for stadium naming rights. J Larsen
Mny, what I heard on the radio is that the Bears wanted to sell naming rights to their stadium but couldn't for some reason. There was some problem with the contract they had with the City of Chicago. So they opted to sell (actually, to lease) the team name for 12 years. Guest Mnytime
Yea, but my point is that you have to figure that leasing the team naming rights has to be worth a whole lot more than a stadium?
J Larsen
I know what you mean. Part of that may be that Bank One is also now picking up the bill for the Bears charity efforts, and part of it may be the team's recent struggles.
