Steve Gray Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I was looking at the track listing for the new JSP box , 'Away from Base' when I noticed that it contains several tracks by Glenn Hardman. I haven't heard these for years. I have them on vinyl on the Lester Young Story series. I think 'Upright Organ Blues' by 'Glenn Hardman' is the most appropriate combination of tune and performer I have ever come across, and the funniest. Quote

kh1958 Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 The Lester Young Story LP has four versions of Dickie's Dream, all great. I've only found one version on CD. Is there any issue with all four versions? I was looking at the track listing for the new JSP box , 'Away from Base' when I noticed that it contains several tracks by Glenn Hardman. Is there any issue with all four versions? One of the Count Basie volume of the Masters of Jazz series (it should be volume 11) has all four versions of 'Dickie's Dream'. Can't check right now. The series is unfortunately discontinued by now and that CD might be hard to find! Quote

I currently have 3 takes on Classics and Neatwork. Quote
