Rooster_Ties Posted August 4, 2005 Report Share Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) Bought it ten+ years ago, read it back then, and remember it as being a mostly pretty interesting read, if a bit on the dry side – a bit like an extended academic paper. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Then again, it’s certainly not the driest book I’ve ever read either (and not by a long shot). The text is well documented, with 30+ footnotes per chapter, most of which are well annotated. Perhaps the greatest value to some might be the selected bibliography, which is HUGE (well over 300 entries, maybe closer to 400 even). I don’t think I knew enough back then to have formed a well-qualified opinion about the book. I’ll be interested in hearing what others here thought of it.
