I think Zagat even ranked it the fourth best restaurant in Kansas City. Different strokes, I guess. I'm definitely not a fan of the Drunken Fish franchise. Kona is better, IMO. We are going to try the BRGR Bar while we're there this time. Probably hit it for dinner before the concert. I think it's basically the same place they used to have at the Lumiere in St. Louis, which was quite good. My top restaurants in KC would be Bristol Seafood, Blue Stem, M&S Grill, Plaza III (though I've heard that Capital Grill has overtaken it for best steaks), Fiorella's Jack Stack, and The American. Oh, and I love the pizza they have at d'Bronx! Quote

We have an excellent German restaurant here in Jeff, but it's seemingly only open ten minutes a day like twice a week. Kelly and I love it, too. I'm going to show this place to her. We may have to bump BRGR Bar off the itinerary. Affare has really tasty food, not all of it heavily German. It has an award winning chef from Europe. The desserts are amazing. There is a great selection of German beers, and the waitresses know how to explain each beer and how it compares to other beers. All in all, it is my favorite Kansas City restaurant right now. Quote

Scott Dolan Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) It's nearly impossible to get a bad steak in KC. Or bad BBQ, for that matter. Philips Chop House had the best steak in town while they were around, then it was passed on to Plaza III. Haven't ever been to Anton's. Will have to check that out one of our next trips over.
