wolff Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Tokyo Apache. ← Watch out for a Native American boycott of the BJ league . Quote
Noj Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 The Lakers are torture for me to watch, just two quarters into the season. Phil will need to work some real magic to make them any good. Maybe he'll bail out like Tomjanovich. Kobe Bryant just had about the ugliest quarter of basketball I've ever seen him play. Two highlight reel plays in exchange for twelve rookie-like errors. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 how long will it be before # 08 pisses off phil? # 08 wasn't even running back on "d" after his turnover... Quote
Noj Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Kobe's still clutch, and can get that shot for himself. That's just freaky athleticism. That had to hurt the Denver crowd, #8's not their favorite. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 3, 2005 Author Report Posted November 3, 2005 Yes, it was only the 76er's, but dang Detroit looked good last night! Quote
jlhoots Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 FWIW, 2 wins in a row on the road for the Bucks. 41 by Redd last night. T.J. Ford looks like he's completely recovered from his injury. Bogut contributing more than I thought he would. We'll see. Quote
Jim R Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 (edited) Strange game last night between the Warriors and the Hawks. The W's looked terrible in the first half (17 turnovers, missed most of their FT's, got outrebounded by 10), and were down 10 at the break. First two possesions of the 3rd were turnovers. Troy Murphy picks up his 4th foul and goes to the bench, and the W's go small. They proceed to go on a 29-2 run and go up by 17. Then, on a fast break, Baron pulls up with a hamstring strain and goes to the bench for the rest of the night. Instead of collapsing, we go up by 25 and coast to W #1 behind JRich's 28. Oh, and Derek Fisher had a good game. Edited November 3, 2005 by Jim R Quote
Soulstation1 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 anyone watching the free preview of the NBA Pass? it's about a $1 a day for the whole season Quote

Oh, and Derek Fisher had a good game. ← I followed it via gamecast. Very pleased with Pietrus's game. Murphy would have had a great game if it wasn't for the foul trouble, and Zarko made some nice contributions. The Baron injury is a bad omen but hopefully short-term. One funny thing about the game is that Biedrins had 1 foul before he'd played a minute. When he hit the minute mark he got his 2nd foul. I'm going to the Warriors-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden this Sunday. Nosebleeds baby! Guy Quote
Noj Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Big Shaq rolled an ankle. Hope it's not serious. Artest looks unphased by the boos and bad press. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 Man, what a buzzer-beater by RIP in the Celtics game! I was playing a gig and went on break just as the fourth quarter was winding down. That was a great play!!! GO PISTONS! Quote
Jim R Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 The Baron injury is a bad omen but hopefully short-term. ← He sat out last night's matchup with the Jazz, and the W's struggled the entire game- especially on offense. They looked lost, and had a hard time getting good looks. Even JRich couldn't find many shots. I wonder if Montgomery has forgotten he's supposed to coach when Baron isn't suited up. Fisher and Aaron Miles played okay (not many turnovers, but not many assists, either), but it's times like this when I wish we'd taken Luke Ridnour. Pietrus shows flashes of brilliance, but he still looks green in a lot of ways. Hopefully Baron's back in action when they come to The Garden. Quote
md655321 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Pistons continue to dominate. An absolute thrashing of the Raps with strong showing from the Carlos's. I still think the only reason they didnt win last year was Larry's refusal to use the bench, during the season or the playoffs. Doesnt look like that will be an issue this year. Quote

Doesnt look like that will be an issue this year. ← Pistons were basically playing with 7 guys last year and you could tell that after battling the Pacers, the Heat, and then fighting for a game 7 vs. the Spurs, they were just downright tired. I still don't understand why they aren't getting much love from the press considering they were only 8 points away from a repeat and they definitely improved in the off-season. Quote
Guy Berger Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Hopefully Baron's back in action when they come to The Garden. ← The Warriors didn't play very well today (can they hit a single free throw?) but won nonetheless. And any day the Knicks lose is extra cause for celebration! Guy Quote
jlhoots Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I'm late on this but: Bucks 105 Heat 100 Bucks 3-0. Quote
Guy Berger Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I'm late on this but: Bucks 105 Heat 100 Bucks 3-0. ← All of a sudden with TJ Ford back, plus Magliore and Bogut as genuine eastern conference big men, this is looking like quite a good team. If they're lucky, Cleveland snags the #5 spot and they don't have to face Indiana or Detroit until the conference finals.' Guy Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 7, 2005 Author Report Posted November 7, 2005 Yeah, the Bucks look like they are for real this year. Is it safe to say that the East is better than the West this year? Quote
Guy Berger Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Yeah, the Bucks look like they are for real this year. Is it safe to say that the East is better than the West this year? ← Don't know about that yet. The best team is obviously in the west, and once you get past the top 5-6 teams in the east there's a sharp drop-off in quality that doesn't exist out west. But, I think the top 3 teams in the east would be quite competitive in a 7 game series against any west team. Guy Quote
md655321 Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 (edited) The top 3 teams in the east will absolutely beat any west team besides the Spurs. Edited November 7, 2005 by md655321 Quote
Noj Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Once Shaq and Rasheed went to the east, the east became the stronger conference. What's new? The Lakers looked decent last night against 'Melo's McNuggets. Kobe is off to a monster start, putting up 37 and looking virtually unstoppable for stretches. I'd still like to see his shooting percentage go up, he was 16 of 30 or some shit. Smush Parker is playing some great ball, if he can be consistent throughout the season he is going to make a name for himself in this league. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 IMHO basketball is boring w/o da daddy lebron had a nice throw down the other night can he finally buy himself a drink? Quote
