Jim Alfredson Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Now that I've got my cable modem connection back I'm thinking of joining. Gotta run it by the wife, but they seem to have a lot of her tastes in there too (she likes older country and bluesgrass as well as older pop/rock). $10 a month? I'd rather have that than cable TV personally! Quote
BFrank Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 For $10/month it's an absolute NO-brainer. If you only d/l one album per month, it pays for itself (and who only downloads one album per month???) Quote
chris olivarez Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 I'm just curious is this the sort of thing that could have the RIAA blackshirts knocking at your door? Also once you have downloaded a cd can the music be easily removed from your drive? This could take up a lot of space in a hurry. Quote
BFrank Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 EMusic is totally licensed and legal. No problem what-so-ever with the RIAA on this one. As for what you can do with your MP3s - you can do whatever you want with them. You own them. There's a free 50-tune, no committment trial period to see if you like the service. I recommend checking it out. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 (edited) can you save/print the cover and backcover info, after you download the music from e-music? if so that would make me join. i hate cdrs with no info. i gotta stack of over 50. i bought the avery cd/dvd label kit and still ain't figured it out yet my computer skillz are WEAK. also about how long for a 40/50minute d/l with a cable modem? thanks ss1 i should just check out the 50 free downloads, but i don't like putting my info into something that's supposedly "free" Edited September 12, 2003 by Soulstation1 Quote
RDK Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 There's no cover art available from emusic. I've downloaded so much from there that I just burn the albums to disc (often 2 on 1) and write on the CDRs with a sharpie. With DSL, it takes less about 5 minutes to d/l an average album... The 50 free downloads are indeed "free" - when you reach your limit they cut you off until you click "yes" to sign up and proceed (or something like that). Quote
Parkertown Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 SS1, I can probably help you with the Avery software. Maybe we can chat this weekend. It works great! Later! Quote
