I wrote down my picks and had Washington picked over Chicago (which was an easy pick.)

I evidently forgot to include that pick on Organissimo, as I was just following somebody all the way down as reference for the games on tap. That person apparently forgot to post a pick on that game as well.

Grrr...

Okay, I hurt myself there. I get credit for 8. My week could have been even better than it was...

We have a $5 sheet that pays close to $1000. It involves multiple businesses and has grown over several years. Usually comes down to the points on Monday night.

Points shouldn't matter as we should make our picks cumulative over the season. There would be no ties in that case. Where's the glory in winning one week then losing a bunch of others? We should have an overall champ at the end. Sure hope I can be on the website consistently enough to be able to make my weekly picks.

Damn, I'm still pissed though. Looks like everyone picked a team for every game except me.

It was just an oversight on my part. I never noticed that my pick was missing from the list. I was following my master list on a sheet of paper at home.

I'd love to join in with you guys but very early on in my adult life, I saw several good friends get in deep with the bookies. One guy had to flee town or lose his ability to talk & walk properly. To this day, I refuse to gamble on anything but lottery tickets.

... not that this is gambling here.

SS1, I would not have done any better than you. This was upset-city this weekend. I never dreamed that the 49ers would win. I was also very surprised by the Panthers inability to beat a Saints team that really tried to lose. San Diego gets beat by Drew "I can't avoid the rush to save my life" Bledsoe? Say it ain't so!

First week in the NFL is always full of upsets.

Also, there will be surprise teams as the season goes along. No one really knows what's what for the first 4-6 weeks.

Pats looked pretty good in their win, but their main competition looks tough (Indy and Pittsburgh), and I think the rest of the NFL has narrowed the gap considerably. I don't think they'll repeat this year, but I'm going to assume that they will anyway, just to maintain the faith.
