Michael Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Well, not any more than any other of this kind of thing - Blue Note cleared the hurdles with that Miles Davis 1951 CD, Baldwin Street Music is able to deal with this too. Throw enough money at the right people and anything is possible. Mike Quote
kh1958 Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) Charlie Ventura and Bill Harris--Live at the Three Deuces (1947) (High Note). I wish Jerry Newman had recorded Charlie Parker--this recording is far superior to the Dean Benedetti recordings, soundwise. Edited November 16, 2007 by kh1958 Quote
JohnS Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) I have a Fresh Sound lp of the Sonny Berman. It appears to be a facsimile issue of an Esoteric album. Notes are by Newman. Sound is quite acceptable. Edited November 17, 2007 by JohnS Quote

As far as I know Jerry Newman recorded one track with Charlie Parker, it's on one of the Media 7 "Masters of Jazz" cds in the Parker series. He apparently wasn't a Parker fan. Quote
brownie Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Too bad that Jerry Newman and Dean Benedetti did not share taping duties. With the missing gaps being then made available, we would have more immortal music available music by now. Quote
