ghost of miles Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 A buddy of mine in the news dpt. is working on a story about a man who survived a shipwreck during WWII. He's looking for some background music to use, something with jazz violin... I suggested Stuff Smith or Ray Nance with Ellington. Can anybody think of a specific track off the top of their head that might work well--something somewhat mournful, melancholic, dark? Quote
AllenLowe Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 Moon Mist - gorgeous and melancholy - Ellington, credited to Mercer, ca. 1940 - Quote
brownie Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 I'ld go for 'Tears' by the Quintet of the Hot Club de France (Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt). Great melancholy period piece! Quote
