BERIGAN Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 (edited) Most fans will have the music, but check out the review, the DVD makes it sound worthwile... http://www.yourmusic.com/browse/album/Bill...-DVD-76964.html Edited October 26, 2005 by BERIGAN Quote
medjuck Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I did get it and yes the DVD did make it worth getting because of the time lines and photos as well as the performances. And that's despite the fact that I already had all of the audio perormances. (I'm a Lady Day completist. (Though I am missing her concert performance with Duke. Is that extant?) Quote
jazzbo Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I've bought it too, and for the yourmusic.com price it is certainly a bargain. It is a great compilation, and the dvd is wonderful. Quote
bichos Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 for more complete film clips of lady day i would prefer this dvd: as far as i know it´s the most complete collection of billie holiday on film. see also this post from a few months ago: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...topic=18884&hl= keep boppin´ marcel Quote
jazzbo Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Right. . . I bet that's a bitchin' dvd. The one in the Ultimate set though has some wonderful audio pieces. Quote
medjuck Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I think the Jazz Memories is missing only the appearance on the LA Stars of Jazz show Bobby Short did which is on the Ultimate set. Quote
BERIGAN Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 Thanks guys! Sounds like one to get! Quote
