Guest Chaney Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Have a look at the first page of the jazz listing on eBay and what do you see? HARRY SKOLER Work of Heart JAZZ CLARINET 5/25 AND HARRY SKOLER Conversations in Language #3/25 The artist himself featuring his CDs in the front window of eBay - pictures and all - seen by many thousands of jazz nuts. I wonder if Organissio has ever considered selling a copy or two of its release in this way or just as well: getting tons of inexpensive exposure for the band and its CD? Just a thought. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Yeah, I have thought of that. The key would be to phrase the auction title in such a way as to attract certain buyers, such as people looking for Hammond B3 stuff. It might be worth a shot. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Looks good! What I was thinking though was choosing the Gallery Feature UNTIL I just noticed that that feature costs $19.95! Ouch! Gallery Featured $19.95 Get all the benefits of Gallery plus showcase your item in the Featured section of Gallery. How about simply adding a Gallery Picture at $.25? Add a picture preview to your listings and search results, and be on display in the Gallery! Good luck! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Yeah, the gallery thingy is expensive. As of now, to list the CDs for a week, it's costing me about $2.30 I suppose adding another .25 isn't a big deal. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Thank you for the suggestion, Chaney. So far we've sold 2 CDs through Ebay which pays for the listing cost! I've decided to extend the auction for another week. Quote
Ed S Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I was going to go the CD Baby route but was wondering if you guys make out better if I bag it through Ebay. Let me know - I've got an itchy trigger finger tonight. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 It's up to you, Ed. We get more per CD through Ebay, but if you want the convenience of using a credit card, go ahead and use CDBaby. I really like them and have no qualms supporting them by giving them a cut of the sales. And hey, here's something cool, too... CDBaby is getting into the online distribution business with hookups to Apple's I-Tunes, Emusic, and more. We're thinking about taking part in that as well. Quote
