slide_advantage_redoux Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 A colleague of mine in the business (a jingle writer) is wanting to dispose of his LP collection. As so many people eventually have already done so, he has determined that he never listens to them anymore and he wants to sell them. I spoke to him today. I don't know exactly how many he has, but he says he has a lot....old Blue Notes, Roulettes, etc. All 40+ years old and in excellent shape (by his own estimation, and being a musician, I assume he did take care of them). I am scratching my head trying to figure a way to justify to my wife that I need to make a move on this collection (wives just don't seem to understand the vinyl jones, do they). I'll be driving over to give his collection a once over. He said he'd make me a good deal. More later! Quote

I haven't been an LP collector for about 15 years, and this kind of talk still gets me all excited. Anyway, I hope it all turns out to be good (and clean). Give us a FULL report! Quote
Tom in RI Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Here's hoping you come up big and everything is clean, clean, clean. In my own experience, musicians have been no better or worse than the average person when it came to proper care and handling of vinyl. Quote
