John B Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 I just heard this disc for the first time. What a beautiful, beautiful album. Not as abstract as a lot of Roscoe's solo recordings have seemed to me. This disc is accesible, funky, exhuberant and, did I say yet, beautiful. Some of the tracks here make me think that this is what it might have sounded like if the AEC recorded for Blue Note back in the day. Very highly recommended. Quote
GregK Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 Thanks for discussing this. I have been thinking about getting this one but have put if off. That will change very soon. The accesible side of Roscoe must sound great! Quote
Guest Chaney Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Funny Rat at all, John? Sounds... :gulp: ...pleasant. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 (The exterminator said it relaxed him). ← If it relaxed the exterminator maybe you should send a copy to your governor. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Chuck, why not send Arnold one of those AEC boxes--get his head straight? ← When he sends $75. Your problem, not mine yet. -_- Quote
John B Posted November 15, 2005 Author Report Posted November 15, 2005 Funny Rat at all, John? Sounds... :gulp: ...pleasant. ← Accesible yet very much a Funny Rat thumbs up. I have nothing negative to say about this disc. How is the live album you just posted in the What Are You Listening To thread? Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Count me in as another fan of this album. I've been spending a lot of time with various Note Factory releases recently, and I love 'em all. Quote
