bertrand Posted November 17, 2005 Report Share Posted November 17, 2005 (edited) It is with sadness that I report the passing of Ernestine Cox, nee Morgan, last week-end in Philly. Ernestine was Lee Morgan's sister and the elder of the four Morgan siblings (Lee was the youngest). It was Ernestine who, along with brother Jimmy, bought Lee his first trumpet. Lee had dabbled with the vibes for a year, before settling on trumpet as his instrument. I met Ernestine once, at Jimmy's funeral in December 1999. She had been in poor health for several years. Ernestine's funeral will be this Friday. My deepest condolences to the Morgan family, that I have known for the last 15 years or so. Bertrand.
