Anyone been to Yemen, Oman, Qatar?

I'm scheduled for an extended stint, but haven't been in a few years and haven't spent long periods.

Any local knowledge appreciated.

And yes, I have made appropriate inquiries at ex-pat websites too. I just trust y'all more.

I was thinking the same thing. I imagine Qatar and Oman are much safer.

So it is said. I don't worry much: life's too short. (No jokes about making it even shorter.) I spend enough time in war zones and truly bad places to sweat the ill-defined threat that might exist in Yemen.

My wife lived half her life in Dubai, UAE. That's the place to be. Her family has travelled to Oman and Qatar, but Yemen was out of the question for security reasons.

I visited Dubai 3 times and only passed through Oman. Beautiful places.

All I know (positively) about Yemen is Ofra Haza's beautiful music.
