ASNL77 Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) I'd like to buy a few Pink Floyd LPs. Does anybody know which reissues sound good? Which ones are the best and how much should I spend for a decent reissue? Thanks for your help Edited December 3, 2005 by ASNL77 Quote
Alexander Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I can recommend the SACD edition of "Dark Side of the Moon." I've listened to it on both CD and SACD players and it sounds awesome either way. I'm a bit upset at the "new" cover art (I'd prefer to have the original) but the sound is great. I have most of the other Floyd albums on CD, and I think they sound fine. Nothing to write home about, but I have no complaints... Quote
couw Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 which reminds me of the epigramme: I put the LP in my CD player. It won't fit. Quote
Matthew Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 The 30th Anniversary Edition lp of Darkside of the Moon is very good. As for the rest, any used lp in mint condition from around the time of release is going to sound excellent. MSFL's are out there of course, but to my ears, original lps are just as good, and cheaper -- there's millions of them around. Pink Floyd is so cool. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I'd pull out those old PF lps from the back of the closet but am afraid there might be a small compost heap inside the gatefolds. Quote
