bertrand Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) Did the soundtrack to Spike Lee's 'joint' (as he calls 'em) She's Gotta Have It ever come out on CD? All tunes are by Bill Lee (although one is a rip-off of Wayne Shorter's 'Marie Antoinette'), and the personnel is Harold Vick (one of his last dates), Virgil Jones, Stanley Cowell, Bill Lee, and Joe Chambers, with Cedar Walton on one track. I have this on a cassette I bought, but this would be a nice addition to the Joe Chambers playlist on my iPod (he does some nice percussion work on this). If it's not on CD, I'll have to convert the tape to CD (assuming I can dig up the tape!). Thanks, Bertrand. Edited December 29, 2005 by bertrand Quote
robviti Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 yes, it was released on the antilles label in 1991. it's oop and apparently goes for $35-40 used. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I used to have this on CD -- YEARS ago, maybe even before I took the plunge very deeply into jazz. (My main interest at the time may have been that it was a Spike Lee soundtrack, as much as anything.) No idea where it got to -- I'm sure I traded it off before I had any idea who was on it (which I vaguely remember discovering only a couple years ago). Little did I know at the time... Quote
