BERIGAN
Well, I heard this catchy song, seemed like they were playing a new artist kind of satellite station. Some guy singing, not one of those singer/acoustic guys, but singing with a real band. Couldn't make out the lyrics that well , but the word everything was sung several times. Not much to go on, eh? Did I mention it was a male singer? Don't you hate hearing one of those rare decent songs in public, and no way to find out who it was??? Alexander
When you say "real band," what exactly do you mean? Could you make out the instrumentation?
Free For All
Hmmmm....male singer w/band, lyrics contain the word "everything". That should narrow it down to, oh, I don't know, say about 2500 possiblities. I'll be very impressed if our board detectives can get this one. catesta
My suggestion.... Go back and wait for it to play again. They probably rotate the same corporate programmed cd every couple of hours or so. Then, ask the manager or a waitress. Hot Ptah
Was it "Sooner Or Later (Love Is Gonna Getcha)" by the Grass Roots?
BERIGAN
Was it "Sooner Or Later (Love Is Gonna Getcha)" by the Grass Roots? Thanks for the suggestion, but checking out the lyrics for that song tells me it wasn't them.....
7/4
My suggestion.... Go back and wait for it to play again. They probably rotate the same corporate programmed cd every couple of hours or so. Some places are getting their music off an internet or a satellite connection. A local place here in town has blues 24/7 when the jukebox isn't being used. I'm always hearing new tunes on it. I think the material on the jukebox has the same source - off the net or the sky.

RonF
Hey Beri, You could ask my uncle the next time you're in NYC. He's about 5' 10, brown hair and usually wears a blue shirt.

Guest
by any chance was this the song: Seventy-three men sailed upFrom the San Francisco Bay,Rolled off of their ship And here's what they had to say."We're callin' everyone to ride along To another shore,We can laugh our lives awayand be free once more." But no one heard them callin',No one came at all, 'Cause they were too busy watchin'Those old raindrops fall. As a storm was blowin'Out on the peaceful sea,Seventy-three men sailed off To history.Ride, captain rideUpon your mystery ship,Be amazed at the friends You have here on your trip.Ride captain rideUpon your mystery ship, On your way to a worldThat others might have missed.(Instrumental) Seventy-three men sailed upFrom the San Francisco Bay,Got off their ship And here's what they had to say."We're callin' everyone to ride along To another shore,We can laugh our lives awayAnd be free once more." Ride, captain rideUpon your mystery ship,Be amazed at the friends You have here on your trip.Ride, captain rideUpon your mystery ship, On your way to a worldThat others might have missed.Ride, captain ride Upon your mystery ship,Be amazed at the friendsYou have here on your trip. Wow, I never knew that the works of e.e.cummings had been turned into a rock song!
chris olivarez
Berigan we get calls at the radio station from time to time looking for song information and sometimes they provide us with no clues as to what that song might be. For obvious reasons when one of these calls come in we instinctively dread them. My suggestion to you is the next time you go into that restaurant take something to write on and write with and if the song pops up make an efort to write down some of the words. That could help answer your question.
