Mr. Gone Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 First, I tried to uninstall ZA Pro, and it wouldn't let me. Said that the True Vector Service was in use. This after I had cancelled ZAP during the boot, where it keeps trying (unsuccessfully) to initiate. Open the task manager and end all Zone Alarm processes, then try to uninstall. Second, while printing out my Contacts list from Outlook (no telling how long it's going to be before this machine becomes functional again, if ever), You're aware that you can export your contacts list, arent you? No offense... I got a message saying that my Virtual Memory was low, and that Windows was reconfiguring the space allotted for same. I've got close to 3 GB free HD space, and I haven't changed my VM settings since Day One. So why the trouble with that all of a sudden? Any chance that I got a memory issue going on? On the computer, that is... Try this: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;837869 If it's a different error message, just copy/paste it to your favorite web search engine (whatever happened to altavista?) and do a web search. Most of these problems have been solved before. Good luck. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Jim, go to http://www.x-raypc.com/download.php and download x-raypc.exe. Run it and click the button that says Online Analyzer. Look in the column labeled Triage. If anything says "Bad", click it once and then click the little trash can. Let me know the names of anything that's "Bad"... I'm curious if this is the same download trojan virus I just cleaned off of a friend's PC called "Vundo". Kevin Quote
