that is one of those recordings that, in my opinion, sounds like everyone (except Grffin) is off their game, including Baker, who seems to fall back on stock phrases; even Haig, who plays some nice solos, loses continuity more than once - I remember thinking, "what's wrong with this record" and I always had a feeling it was a bunch of junkies - and an alcoholic - having a bad day -

Yeah Allen, I know what you mean. I used to own it years ago but dumped it pretty quickly once I realized how "un-thrilled" I was by it...now the Griffin nut in me wants me to at least replace those tracks via emusic. :-)

Man, some pretty harsh comments about this. To each his own I guess. This is one of my favorite Baker albums. I love everyone's playing: Baker sounds confident and forceful throughout, Griffin comes out swinging and never lets up, Haig comps and solos as beautifully as I've ever heard, Chambers and PJJ are Chambers and PJJ, and I'd rather hear them on a bad day than some others at the top of their game.
