Allegro blowout sale on Storyville titles

I bought some titles, even though I am broke.

The NY Contemporary Five, the 2 Marsh-Mitchell titles, and Solal Contrastes.

Does anyone think they are going to run out before they can fill all of the orders?

Hmm, I was going to go for almost the same order, plus the Bechet and one Ellington.

I hope they have more than one of each.

I think they have enough because I just received a confirmation email.

There's not a single Storyville disc in my collection. Browsing through the 300 or so titles many look interesting. Would anyone care to recommend some essentials?

I recommend the Dr. Jazz series if anyone likes Chicago style!

And all the Ellingtons are great. . . .Music wise. I really like "The Jay Walker," The Treasury Series, and the Togo Brava Suite.

Filled up on the missing numbers from the Duke DETS and the Art Tatum live series plus the Red Mitchell/Warne Marsh!

Total went well above $50 but the free shipping did not apply to non-US residents, as was carefully stated.

But found the shipping cost was less than $2 per disc which looked quite reasonable.

Just got one of my orders, and everything arrived except for V. 1 of the Warne Marsh/Red Mitchell--invoice says it's been deleted. Got V. 2 though, and right now am listening to Duke Ellington's AT THE HURRICANE 1943. Can't ever seem to get enough of 1940s Ellington radio broadcasts.

The package from Allegro was delivered this morning. Fast and cheap. Great service.

Only one item (Duke Ellington Treasury Shows, vol. 9) proved to be deleted.

The rest made it fine. Will be doing more business with them!

I'm hoping to get mine today; it arrived at home in Austin some time ago, and my friend Dave mailed it to me Saturday. All items arrived, including a HEP cd I ordered, the Whiteman "Swing Unit" . . . .

I got Satchmo in Scandinavia vols 2 & 3. I am enjoying these puppies far more than I'd imagined. Plus they are HDCD!! Incredible sound for live 50's concerts.

I agree, those are EXCELLENT reissues. Can't wait for the final two!
