Lazaro Vega Posted August 2, 2006 Author Report Posted August 2, 2006 We have some of the live performance with Fred Anderson recorded, yes, and if that is programmed it would be after midnight during the "Out On Blue Lake" segment. Jazz From Blue Lake runs from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. est. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 Sorry I don't have the new digital transfer of Nonaah in shape or I'd be at the station tonight. Quote
ep1str0phy Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Happy birthday, indeed. I'll see if I can listen in (may have to work the night away)... regardless: here's hoping for years and years more of light, love, and improvisation--our generation is still reeling in the shadows of the greats, Roscoe among them. GregK Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I think this is a good time then to order his two recent Rogue Arts CDs from the Jazz Loft Quote

I think few modern saxophonists--hell, saxophonists period--have as substantial and refined an understanding of not only the mechanics of the instrument, but also its role in different instrumental contexts. Irrespective of the environs, Roscoe never loses the essence of his personality--or, for that matter, that restless 'urge' that marks many of the greatest in the music. He's a giant, no doubt. Quote
