Rooster_Ties Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Stumbled on this last night, much to my surprise... Gerald Wilson Big Band In Europe (late 60's or early 70's??) What other jazz footage from the 60's and 70's can you find?? (Footage that isn't as widely known.) Doesn't have to be artists from the 60's and 70's, just footage shot during that general time frame, plus or minus. Seems like I'm stumbling on stuff all the time, and I'd rather these clips not get lost in the mega-huge "general Youtube" thread. Thanks!!! Quote

sidewinder Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 (edited) Stumbled on this last night, much to my surprise... Gerald Wilson Big Band In Europe (late 60's or early 70's??) That recording of 'Perdido' was actually done in LA for the 'Frankly Jazz' show, I believe. I have it on tape. Edited October 19, 2006 by sidewinder Quote
Free For All Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Woody Herman - Nice 1979 Paul, are you in this?? Didn't see you there, but there weren't a lot a close-ups of the bones. (Or is '79 too early for you in the Herd?) I didn't start until 1984. Funny, they displayed the title of the tune (Fanfare for the Common Man) as "Come On Man". Hehehe. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted October 19, 2006 Author Report Posted October 19, 2006 (edited) I'd done searches for Blakey footage before, and no wonder this one never came up. Edited October 19, 2006 by Rooster_Ties Quote

Claude Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 You better download those clips before they get deleted in the big youtube clean-up operation. This extension for firefox works great: http://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/ Quote
